10 Ways to Upgrade Your Leadership Influence Share

Leadership is not about position. It is not about power. Leadership is about influence.
Poor leaders don’t understand this, so they spent their time flexing muscles, raising
their voices and imposing their will. Good leaders do understand this truth, so they
focus their attention on improving their ability to influence.
Below are 10 practices you should consider to help improve your ability to influence
the people you lead:
1. Treat people like human beings rather than human resources. Too often leaders
threaten their followers, use them, or neglect them. Remember, the people you lead
are just that: PEOPLE. Leaders who write people off and treat them poorly always
reap the negative benefits of those actions later.

2. Err on the side of generosity. Be generous with your time. Be generous with your
resources. Be generous with forgiveness, praise and encouragement. Yes, this will
cost you, but the results are worth it.

3. Always let people know where they stand. It is leadership cruelty to let under-
performing team members think they’re doing well and to let excellent team members
wonder if they’re succeeding. Give your followers clear direction and keep them
abreast of how you view their progress.

4. Believe in your team. People beat themselves up a lot, they don’t need you to add
any bruises to their collection. Help their confidence by believing in the people on
your team. Look for the untapped potential in all of your team members. Tell them
you are proud of them. Tell them you believe in them. When you reprimand
someone make sure you genuinely believe they can improve. If you don’t believe in
your team, you have the wrong people on your team, you have people in the wrong
positions or you are too darn cynical. Figure out which it is and take address the issue
immediately!

5. Praise people publicly and correct them privately. Never never never never
reprimand people publicly. You’ll lose equity with the person being corrected and the
people hearing the reprimand. Always always always encourage people publicly. This
gives a boost to the person being praised and gives hope to those hearing the
encouraging words.

6. Refuse to respond in anger. When a team member fails, don’t explode. If you’re
mad, go somewhere to cool off before you address the issue. When you explode, you
make the people you lead afraid of telling you when something is wrong. Losing your
temper is the fastest way to create a culture where your followers lie to your face and
cover up their mistakes. Can you say, “unhealthy?”

7. Apologize. When you make a mistake, admit it. Tell your followers that you regret
your actions. DON’T MAKE EXCUSES or say “I’m sorry, but…” Just say “I’m sorry.” The
people you lead don’t expect you to be perfect, but they do want you to be humble.

8. Send hand-written notes. In an era of emails, texts, tweets and Facebook wall posts,
it’s truly astounding to be given a hand-written note. Send hand-written apologies,
thank you’s and notes of encouragement. Your team will be moved by the fact that
you’ve taken a little extra time for them.

9. Strive for excellence. My former pastor, Craig Groeschel, often says, “Excellence
honors God and inspires people.” I couldn’t agree more. As you strive for and expect
excellence, your team will respond. People want to do remarkable things. They want
what they do to matter. Aiming for quality results contributes to a culture of
excitement, hope, confidence and expectation.

10. Do what you say. Nothing will undermine your leadership influence faster than
inconsistency. Never forget, people judge themselves by their intentions but they judge
you by your actions. When you don’t do what you say, people begin to think you lack
integrity. They may overlook it at first, but eventually they’ll think you are full of hot air
(at best) or an outright liar (at worst). Do your absolute best to always follow through
on all of your commitments no matter what!

15 Signs Your Church Is in Trouble

1. When excuses are made about the way things are instead of embracing a
willingness to roll up the sleeves and fix the problem.
2. When the church becomes content with merely receiving people that come
rather than actually going out and finding them…in other words, they lose their
passion for evangelism!
3. The focus of the church is to build a great church (complete with the pastor’s
picture…and his wife’s…on everything) and not the Kingdom of God.
4. The leadership begins to settle for the natural rather than rely on the
supernatural.
5. The church begins to view success/failure in regards to how they are viewed in the church world rather than whether or not they are
actually fulfilling the Great Commission!
6. The leaders within the church cease to be coachable.
7. There is a loss of a sense of urgency! (Hell is no longer hot, sin is no longer wrong, and the cross is no longer important!)
8. Scripture isn’t central in every decision that is made!
9. The church is reactive rather than proactive.
10. The people in the church lose sight of the next generation and refuse to fund ministry simply because they don’t understand “those
young people.”
11 . The goal of the church is to simply maintain the way things are…to NOT rock the boat and/or upset anyone…especially the big givers!
12. The church is no longer willing to take steps of faith because “there is just too much to lose.”
13. The church simply does not care about the obvious and immediate needs that exist in the community.
14. The people learn how to depend on one man to minister to everyone rather than everyone embracing their role in the body, thus
allowing the body to care for itself.
15. When the leaders/staff refuse to go the extra mile in leading and serving because of how “inconvenient” doing so would be.

Are you thinking about starting a blog? If so, there are
several things you should keep in mind. Here are the
top 10 tips you should keep in mind before you launch
a blog.

1. Be Specific About Your Goals: Oh, sure,
everyone knows that you should have an objective
for your blog before you launch it. But most
people aren’ t specific in their goal -setting. Do you
want it to attract customers? Do you want it to
add personality to your brand? Or do you simply
want a channel to communicate your take on the
latest headlines? Be specific.

2. Think Backwards: Jerry Brown was a great
advertising man who decided the best way to sell
a product was to get inside the mind of the
customer. He called it Thinking Backwards. When
you’ re Thinking Backwards about your blog, ask
yourself “What ’s in it for my reader?” Nobody
comes back to a blog unless they get tools , tips or
techniques that improve their lives in one way or
another.

3. Write Headlines that People Will Google: If
you want traffic to your site, then write headlines
that are Google-able. People don’ t Google
“Engines,” they Google “How to fix a 1954 V -8
Chrysler engine” or “V -8 Chrysler engine.” Write
your headlines the way people Google. That’ ll
ensure better traffic and readership.

4. Vary the Length of Your Blogs: A lot of people
wonder how long a blog post should be. The
correct answer is as long as you want it to be.
That said, your readers will appreciate it (and
come back for more) if your posts vary in length .
Remember, variety is the spice of life.

5. Use Guest Bloggers: Eventually, all bloggers need
a break now and then. You can keep your ideas
and your writing fresh by taking time off and
stepping away from your blog. Make a policy of
having regular guest bloggers. That way, you can
maintain the quality of your work without
sacrificing quantity.

6. Blog 3 to 5 Times a Week: Some people won’ t
agree with this, but we’ ve found that unless you
blog 3 to 5 times a week, Google, Yahoo and MSN
won’t rank your blog as high.

7. Know Your Blogging Platforms: The most
common blogging platforms are WordPress,
Drupal, Typepad and Google’s Blogger. They’ re all
good. We use WordPress and love it. Drupal has a
more graphical interface. Typepad has been
around a long time. And Blogger is good if you’ re
a beginner.

8. Enhance Your Blog with Plugins: Plugins are
mini-software programs that make your blog
more user-friendly. No matter what platform you
use, be sure to check out the Plugins. Your visitors
will have a better experience that way.

9. Stay on Topic: It’s easy to get distracted on your
blog or to write about off-topic subjects. But your
readers aren’t interested in off-topic subjects.
They’re interested in whatever it is you specialize
in. So stay on-topic as much as possible.

10. Ask Questions: To encourage reader-engagement,
you should ask questions at the end of your
posts. Don ’t ask just for the sake of asking. Ask
because your readers probably have a lot of good
ideas and comments you haven’ t thought of.

Dr. Wan sekeluarga tinggal di Eropa, 1 kali mereka hendak ke Jerman. Dgn mengendarai mobil tanpa henti siang malam, butuh waktu 3 hari sampe sana. Dirinya, istrinya, & anak perempuannya berumur 3 tahun dalam mobil itu. Malam pertama di mobil anaknya ketakutan dgn kegelapan di luar, karna blum pernah berpergian saat malam. “Mau kemana kita papa?” “Ke rumah paman di jerman” “Papa pernah ke sana?” “Belum” “Papa tau jalan kesana?” “Mungkin, kita dapat lihat peta” “Papa tau cara baca peta?” “Ya, kita akan sampe dgn aman” “Dimana kita makan kalo lapar nanti?” “Kita makan di resto pinggir jalan” “Papa tau ada resto pinggir jalan?” “Ya, ada” “Papa tau dimana?” “Tidak, tapi kita akan menemukannya.” Dialog yg sama berlangsung beberapa kali pada malam pertama & kedua, tapi pada malam ke 3 anak ini diam. Dr. Wan pikir dia tertidur ternyata dia masih bangun & melihat sekeliling dgn tenang. Dr. Wan curiga & coba tanya lg anaknya, “Sayang, kamu tau kita pergi kemana?” “Jerman, ke rumah paman” “Kamu tau bagaimana kita sampe sana?” “Tidak” “Trus napa gak tanya-tanya lagi?” “Karna papa sedang mengemudi” Jawaban dari anak kecil 3 th ini menjadi kekuatan dr.Wan selama bertahun-tahun, Saat dia mempunyai pertanyaan & ketakutan dlm perjalanan hidupnya bersama TUHAN. Anda mungkin tau tujuan hidupmu seperti anak kecil itu, Tapi anda tak tau jalan ke sana, Anda tak dpt baca peta, Anda tak tau apa akan menemukan restoran sepanjang perjalanan? Tapi gadis kecil ini tahu hal yg terpenting: Papa sedang mengemudi & dia aman. Apa sikap & respon anda sebagai penumpang? Anda mungkin tlah menanyakan begitu banyak pertanyaan sebelumnya, tp anda dapat belajar jadi anak kecil itu, yaitu fokus terpenting: “GOD is driving your life & you will be saved, Don’t worry !!” Kita pasti sampai ke tujuan… TRUST and RIGHT RESPONSE!!!  Goϑ ϐLëss γoŭ 

Seorg konsumen datg ke tmpat tukang cukur u/ memotong rambut & mrapikan brewoknya. Si tukang cukur mulai memotong rambut & mulailah trlibat pmbicaraan. Mereka membicarakan brbgai variasi topik pembicaraan & sesaat topik pmbicaraan beralih tntng Tuhan.
Si tukang cukur bilang, “Saya tdk prcaya Tuhan itu ada”.
“Knapa kmu brkata bgitu ???” timpal si konsumen.
“Bgini, coba Anda prhatikan di dpn sana, di jalanan.. Katakan padaku, jika Tuhan itu ada, Adakah yg sakit ? Adakah anak terlantar ? Jika Tuhan ada, tidak akan ada sakit ataupun kesusahan. Saya tidak dpt mmbayangkan Tuhan Yang Maha Penyayang akan membiarkan ini semua trjadi.”
Si konsumen diam u/ bpikir sjenak, tapi tdk merespon karna dia tidak ingin memulai adu pendapat. Si tukang cukur mnyelesaikan pkrjaannya dan si konsumen pergi mninggalkan tmpat si tukang cukur.
Bbrpa saat stlah dia meninggalkan ruangan itu dia mlihat ada orang di jalan dgn rambut yang pnjng,berombak kasar, kotor dan brewok yang tidak dicukur. Org itu trlihat tidak terawat.
Si konsumen balik ke tempat tukang cukur & brkata, “Kamu tahu, sbnarnya TIDAK ADA TUKANG CUKUR.”
Si tukang cukur tidak terima,” Kmu kok bisa bilang begitu ?? Saya di sini & saya tukang cukur. Dan barusan saya mencukurmu !”
“Tidak !” elak si konsumen. “Tukang cukur itu tidak ada, sebab jika ada, tidak akan ada orang dengan rambut panjang yang kotor dan brewokan seperti orang yg di luar sana “, si konsumen menambahkan.
“Ah tidak, tapi tukang cukur tetap ada !”, sanggah si tukang cukur.” Apa yg kamu lihat itu adalah salah mereka sndiri, knapa mreka tdk datang ke saya”, jwb si tukang cukur membela diri.
“Cocok !” kata si konsumen mnyetujui. “Itulah point utama-nya ! Sama dengan Tuhan, TUHAN ITU JUGA ADA! Tpi apa yg trjadi.. Org2 TIDAK MAU MENCARI-NYA. Oleh karna itu bnyak yg sakit & trtimpa ksusahan di dunia ini.”

Suster bad habits

Buat para moms : mohon lebih berhati2 dlm menjaga anaknya.
Ini cerita dr teman saya (saya sudah mendengar banyak cerita, termasuk cerita dimana ada teman pasang mp3 utk rekam suara, ditaruh di boneka, dan dr mp3 tsb ditemukan bahwa suster sering maki2 n mukul)

2 hari yg lalu 1 June, ketika sy mau ke toilet, ada sus yg lg bawa anak ke toilet. Krn anak itu pee nya ga bs diem,krn sempit kali yah.. abis dhe tuh anak dihajar sm dia, dipukulin, dicubitin.. Dll sy ga tau diapain, yg pasti tu anak disiksa di dlm sana.. Pas mereka keluar, sy ikutin mereka, trnyt sus nya lgsg berubah total ! Anaknya disayang2 dan bermanis2 ngmg sm majikan..pagi ini 3 June, kejadian lagi di depan mataa saya sendiri.. Ada 2 sus yg lg bawa anak jalan2 ( saya ga tau itu dr rumah yg sama atau mereka janjian di taman ) yg sy liat, sus A bawa 1 anak cowo, anak itu ditinggalin sampe nangis dijalan, akhirnya anak itu dipukulin, ditampar berkali2, ditepak2 palanya dan dijotos2…dicubitin, pokonya segala hal.nah sus B juga melakukan hal yg sama ke anak yg 1 lagi ( cw ) padahal anak itu ga melakukan apa apa….baru juga umur ga sampe 2y..yg cowo ga sampe 3y… Kasian bgt anak2 jadi korban pelampiasan mereka, mgkn mereka kesel sm anak / apa… Krn itu moms, jangan pernah kasih ijin ke prt/ sus bawa anak kita keluar rumah/ jjs / toilet/ diruma tanpa pengawasan kita. Mereka bisa aja sekongkolan pukulin anak seperti apa yg sy liat pagi ini, gosip yg bukan2, melakukan kejahatan lainnya krn mgkn bertemu dgn teman diluar yg kebetulan jahat… Mudah2an ini bs membuka pikiran moms yg terlalu bebas membiarkan anaknya sm sus /prt dirumah. Kita harus menjaga anak2 titipan Tuhan.Yg terpenting, Jangan lupa berdoa..supaya anak kita selalu dilindungi sama Tuhan. Amin.

Next time kalo ketemu suster spt ini, kita mesti tegur ya
